Production at ME

Sensors with strain gages consist of a spring body that is equipped with strain gauges. Protective covers or housings are required to protect the strain gauges.

The quality of the sensor is determined by

  • the construction of the spring body,
  • the construction of the mechanical load introduction,
  • the material of the spring body
  • the coating and surface treatment of the spring body
  • the dimensional accuracy of the spring body and the accessories,
  • the quality of the process steps in the bonding and wiring of strain gauges.

We monitor these characteristics through a strict quality inspection in the incoming goods, through audits at suppliers, by measuring sensor properties such as temperature response, zero-return error after thermal and mechanical stress, linearity, creep error ...

Minimal deviations in the process parameters, such as temperature, temperature gradient, surface roughness, purity, soldering temperature, thickness of the adhesive layer, etc. can affect the function of the sensor.

The use of state-of-the-art production equipment and measuring technology ensures the safety of the processes.

All production steps are monitored. Sensor properties are logged in databases.

The table gives an overview of the processes used.

100% Testing of Bonding AND Strain Gages:

Detection of air or particle confinement based on temperature drift and zero-point return error;

Recognition and documentation of the drift and the zero-point return error;

Preference and documentation of the aging of solder joint and strain gauges;

Detection of drift due to residual stress by measuring the drift due to bending;

Measurement and documentation of the insulation resistance (larger / smaller 1GOhm)

Measurement and documentation of the connection resistance

Calibration

Zwick testing machines, Hydraulic testing machines

Factory calibration taking into account the requirements of DIN ISOIIEC 17025 with measuring instruments traceable to national and international standards in the sense of DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 10012.

Surface, crack and lettering

Cracking, surface roughness and serial number marking are performed by laser

Cleaning

The sensors are cleaned in ultrasonic baths

Temperature testing

The sensors are aged, aging and temperature-related drift are recorded and compared in a further step and rechecked

Results of the temperature tests are stored in a database

Quality assurance is supported by software.

Each sensor undergoes a mechanical test, a calibration, a subsequent adjustment and a final calibration with the creation of a test report or factory calibration certificate.

The test procedure is software-based.

The test protocols and factory calibration certificates are generated by Web-To-Print supported by software in two languages and in customized templates.

Webshop, inventory, order planning are interconnected. Production planning assigns each work step to an employee or a team and can be adapted to the demand on a daily basis.
